Stars for All 2023 U.S. Regional Conference
Conference Paper & Poster Presentations
We highly encourage you to give a presentation! The heart of conferences like these consists of what we bring to it and share with our fellow planetarians. Take a moment to reflect on all you’ve done since the last conference. Did you create or try any new programs, any new activities or any new ways of engaging with your audiences? Are there any issues within the field you think would be good to talk about in a panel format?
There will be three main avenues of sharing:
- Paper presentations that are 15 minutes long
- Pre-recorded presentations that are 15 minutes long
- Poster presentations.
All accepted submissions, in any of these forms, will be official presentations for the conference.
The deadline for submitting a Paper/Poster Presentation is May 12, 2023. The paper selection committee will review all submissions and choose and schedule the presentations. These will be finalized around mid-May. Presentation submissions will be reviewed for relevance and scheduled on a first come, first serve basis.
If you have more than one terrific idea, consider a pre-recorded presentation. Each is limited to 15 minutes, no ads, and will be posted on the same YouTube channel as the streaming.
Paper Presentations
Paper presentations will be offered in two concurrent sessions in two adjacent rooms on Thursday and Saturday. Each room will have 250 chairs to accommodate variant attendance. Each paper presentation will be 15 minutes long (10 talk, 3 Q&A, 2 transition). Each session of talks will be no longer than 90 minutes.
The 40 paper presentation slots will be organized in themes like education, tech, etc. We plan to have all live presentations streamed and recorded.
Pre-recorded Paper Presentations
If you have more than one terrific idea, consider a pre-recorded presentation. Each is limited to 15 minutes, no ads, and will be posted on the same YouTube channel as the streaming.
Poster Presentations
Posters will be in a digital format and shown on a large screen HDTV in the vendor hall. There are four choices for poster format:
- Standard poster – 1920×1080 horizontal format still image (jpg).
- Animated poster – a standard poster that includes video content of the presenter or other content as an inset.
- Slide show – a collection of images with captions and/or VoiceOver (captions are highly recommended).
- Full video – any content as a complete video.
Each poster is limited to 30 seconds or less. If they are animated in any way, they need to be pre-rendered as a 30 second clip in 1920×1080 horizontal format, 30 fps. None of these can be an ad of any sort.
